Fanclub is a way for supporters to donate their attention to their favourite cause, and in return get access to great deals and special offers provided by local businesses.
When you join Fanclub, you are agreeing that it is ok for us to send you a regular email, that contains information, deals and discounts about businesses in your local area. You will be able to control how often you receive these messages, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
People sign up to donate their attention, by sharing their email address. They receive a regular marketing email from Fanclub, which includes promotions and special offers from businesses in their local area. Under normal circumstances, businesses will pay to advertise in this email, and we share the revenue from that advertising with the not-for-profit/s nominated by Fanclub members.
Fanclub operates on a fully freemium model. Local businesses participate for free by offering an exclusive offer to Fanclub Premium Members. Non-profit organisations such as sports clubs and schools leverage their network of supporters to create a passive revenue stream, and those supporters create a targeted audience for local businesses to market their products and services to. Once a local business has signed up to Fanclub, they then have the option of running one-off or short term offers to the whole community, These offers can be sent to the whole Fanclub, or to a subset of customers i.e. just rugby fans (including both free and premium members) creating the perfect targeted advertising channel to attract new customers.
Fanclub can also be used as a direct fundraising tool for schools, sports teams, charities and other not-for-profit organisations. They can sell ‘premium memberships’ to their supporters, which give them access to exclusive member benefits offered by businesses in their area and across New Zealand, alongside benefits offered by their organisation, 100% of this membership fee is donated to the not-profit, less the credit card processing fee.
As we get started, we are planning to send a weekly email, filled with special offers and discounts to businesses in your area. As Fanclub grows, this frequency may change, but you will always have the option of limiting the number of email you receive to once per week.
You can unsubscribe at any time, by clicking the ‘unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of any Fanclub email. Please keep in mind, if you do unsubscribe, that means the organisation/s you support will no longer receive revenue from the advertising local businesses pay to send you the special offers and discounts. Remember as a member you are trading your attention to support the things you care about, and your attention is valuable!
The foundation of Fanclub is the advertising revenue generated by local businesses sharing their short-term and one-off offers. In the first two years, as we are growing. Fanclub have committed that at least 10% of the profits from advertising revenue are donated directly back to the non-profit organisations who work with us.
Yes! It’s awesome to support more than one club or cause, and 100% of your membership fee goes directly back to them. Every non-profit offers special benefits available only to members of their organization, and so it’s definitely worth being involved with more than one!
When you sign up for Fanclub, you will share your First Name, Last Name, Email Address, and tell us what region of New Zealand you are living in. We use this information to send you information and special offers that are relevant to you. Your data and information is never sold, or passed on to any of our partner businesses. No personally identifiable data is shared, and none of your activity or information about how you use our website is tracked or associated with you personally.
